A New Me?

I went out of dinner the other day and saw some old friends and 3 of them told me I looked younger and even looked a lot better than the last time they saw me. I am not sure if flattery is what I will feel because I know for a fact that I still need some ab workout to be able to retain the I figure I once had. Nonetheless, I said thanks and put on a smile since it brought me a little happiness that someone have noticed that I am exerting effort to look better.

We ate  at a seafood restaurant where we normally celebrate events like success, greetings, goodbyes, birthdays and others. The place is no fancy – really but the food is always served great. The presentation, the taste, the overall impact is all excellent! The first time I have been there, I know I will coming over and over. I even introduced the place to hubby and all of us who went there for the first time have all brought someone back to eat. I think that is what’s keeping them famous than the rest of the restaurants beside them. Your first and even your every visit will make you come and invite someone for more.

The day went so well, with everyone meeting, had a little catching up and more enjoyment and fun. I hope I will be invited on another occasion that I know will be coming really soon.  :)

The Reciprocal of Being a Mother

Is receiving tons of love from your children and your husband. The impact that a mother bring to her children can never be valued by any financial figure. This is an untiring occupation. And last month, I am very very fortunate to have received some great mothers day gifts from my family.

I wasn’t expecting anything that day but hubby wanted to go out for a movie and insisted we should so off we go. I was only informed that day we will be leaving the kids in a playroom inside the mall they can enjoy the day. Unfortunately, the store have closed all the playrooms for reasons we don’t know so we were left with bringing the kids to the cinema and it was the very first movie. Ironman 2! The kids enjoyed it being their first but there were times that they wanted to go out already due to some scenes they don’t want to see. We were lucky to have finished the movie without any problems with the kids LOL!

I was insisting to go home after the movie because I still need to work on a couple of kits but hubby wanted to have dinner and while eating, they all greeted me a Happy Mother’s Day. It was a very special day for me. I may not be as surprised as I should be but it really made me happy.

One cannot really measure or put any value as to what a mother brings to her child. A mother is a constant companion, a teacher, a chauffeur, a personal nurse, etc. She does everything for her family and most of the time, she sacrifices a lot for them.

So if you belong to those who still doesn’t appreciate what your mother does for you – it’s time you see what she does and be thankful you have her.

Family Reunion

There will be another family reunion today. My husband’s clan is organizing another one after the success of the previous reunion we had. I am a little excited over this one because it’s time to meet the relatives who we have not been seeing for some time. Some are working abroad while most are living far.

This time around – my mother in law is cooking my favorite – Halaan Soup. She cooks really good and I have always been looking forward to all the dishes she will prepare. I always wanted to try the same thing she cooks. LOL!

The husband and his cousins are pretty much fans of ping pong but I am not sure if there will be  ping pong tables available today for them to play. I never dislike table tennis but I am having a terrible time playing it. You need good eyes and great reflexes to be able to cope up with your opponent. Hubby is good with it, though I have not seen him play for so long so I am looking forward to this. Hopefully, there’ll be tables.

The kids will definitely enjoy it too – videoke is always present when we have gatherings in the family. Oh well, we are a family of good singers! LOL! The kids of the clan are already singing despite being so young. The youngest, are my twins and Ian who are all 4 years of age but sings very well.

Will get some photos soon. For now, I have to go :)

Thanksgiving Parade

Last Sunday was the Thanksgiving celebration of our little town. As what has been practiced each and every year, the day before that, the 3rd Saturday of February will mark the day of the Parade as part of the celebration. We were so looking forward to it and the girls are over excited to see brass bands in action.

We went early to my in-laws that day so we could have a better view of the parade. It started very late compared to the previews years. I am not sure if election has affected the totality of the parade theme but it seems that was the case. The parade was a bit of disappointment. Each year, you will normally see all the barangays properly arranged, each with their own themes and bands to showcase the barangay’s prosperity and how the year has been to them. This year, was very unorganized. Instead of colorful brass bands, there were a lot of people in the parade – all wearing candidates supporter shirts. It was not a parade after all.

There have been a few traditions that were not removed though, like inviting celebrities over, ati-atihan, drum and lyre and the ever popular motor stunts by the motoclubs. I am getting nervous each and every time I get to watch them. I even wanted to offer them online life insurance so they can rest assured they are covered. And I was like – are they not afraid of their lives anymore? With a little space and with all those curious people around, it is even more complicated to do it. Good thing, they are all still in one piece after that. :)

I will post pictures next time, the computer is acting weird and hubby haven’t uploaded them yet.

Kids at a Party

I was in front of my pc as usual searching for additional songs for apple ipods and got to see some pictures of the kids when they attended a party last December. I promised my friend, Tess that I will post this one but it never happened. Sorry for posting this late, sister!

This was the last party that the kids attended last year. It was the 5th birthday of Luigi, the unico hijo of Tess and Gani. He’s a cheerful and smart boy. I love his long and curly eyelashes. He’s totally adorable. The party was held a Mc Donald’s Tiendesitas and it was an evening party for the kids. I never allow them to play at parties alone before but this one, I can see the eagerness in their eyes. They played around with other kids and they had fun.

Here is Scieszka along with the other girls older than her.

A photo with the birthday boy, Luigi and his bestfriend

The kids were pretty much active at this party than the previous ones. It’s amazing how they manage to learn how to mingle with other kids despite not being able to play outside the house. I am relieved because they will soon be getting into a school and interaction with other kids might help them how to deal with others even better.
