Sales Agents – They Just Keep on Coming

I never really wanted to entertain sales agents going house to house to sell products and other stuffs. Being in a country where there are lots of tricksters and who only wanted to get money from others, I never came to trust people who would go further as wanting to penetrate the interior of a household just to be able to offer their goods.

The latest one who came over sells cheap life insurance quotes and I am really not interested in getting one. As much as I wanted to throw her off  the other side of the road, she just kept on talking and talking and I can’t even catch up to her speed to catch the moment when she would definitely need to catch her breath. It’s like she knows how to properly breath while talking LOL! Call it machine mouth. It’s tiring and every day, we would normally need to say no to at least 2 sales agents. I was wondering if they never do get tired of just walking around under the sun selling stuffs which I doubt they believe in or have even tried. Most of them even barely knew the details of the product they are selling. We was once offered an internet connection and the agent keeps on telling about the download speed, the download limit and everything. Of course, I definitely know about the internet, types of service connections and the like and I wanted to laugh at how the companies are just deploying people without even training them. Am really so sad about these people.

Wanting to Shop

I have actually been wanting to purchase something for myself – a new bag I can use when going to the office or just about anywhere else. I am not really a bag person or someone who really loves to shop every so often to get new goodies for herself. Just that, my good old bag is already worn out and is wanting a replacement.

I saw a bag in Amazon, not a branded one, surely the best buy – but something I can brag about LOL! I was about to make a purchase but then there came changes in plans. My scrap blog is also wanting a make over and that blog is something I use for my designs and other digiscrap stuffs. It is currently wearing a common theme I have and needs a change badly. So there – I decided to hire someone to do the blog make over woohoo! I can no longer get that bag hahaha!

Nevertheless, I am pretty sure that the money I used to pay the designer will soon be recovered. A lot of people are visiting my blog lately and I am very amazed over the reaction of digiscrappers over my designs. I love that people are loving them. I just feel really accomplished. I will be announcing the new look of that site as soon as it gets completed. For now, I will just concentrate on creating new kits as I have to be prepared when the new site is all ready too :)

Needs versus Wants

I have read a couple of books about financial independence and the topic between classifying your needs versus your wants is always present in each of them. I guess I have learned about this a little late. But as the overused cliche goes – better late than never.

Alas, I found myself in this situation where I really need to assess if it is really needed and it was tough LOL! My boss was selling his Ipod Touch for a very cheap price and my eyes were glowing the moment I heard it. You know how better this gadget is compared to any other MP3 players out there and how cool it is. I have been longing to get one and I thought this time – is already my chance. It wasn’t (sounding a little frustrated).

Oh well, the PC is already at its limit and I have to set priorities. And this is where the need versus the want came in. I needed to check what I need most and if having that Ipod Touch is really a necessity. It turned out, we can still live without it – but dang, I can’t live without a PC! So that answered my question. The decision is final. :)

Wishing for a New Dinnerware

It’s already been 5years since my husband and I are married and most of the gifts we received 5 years ago are already old and overused. I have longed to have some new set of wonderful dinnerware for my kitchen.

I haven’t been so fascinated about dinner plates when I was young and still single. But now that I am a wife and a mom, I always wanted to redo the kitchen and make it something I can be proud of. And then I started looking at some nice sets of kitchenware online and saw these wonderful and elegant looking dinnerware from Pfaltzgraff. I have been looking at this one for a couple of minutes and I really really liked it. I was contemplating on whether buying this one first instead of the laptop that I have also been wishing for this Christmas. This will be some kind of a tough decision since hubby is also focused on buying the laptop.

Hmm, how do I tell the husband that I wanted this set? Guess, I have to tell him I’ll be able to have a wonderful presentation of all the dishes I will cook from now on. Then, I will start collecting food recipes and study how to do each of them so he’ll not regret of ever buying these dinner set. Oh, how I wish he’ll give this to me. :)

A Wedding After Christmas

It’s only 2 more days to go before Christmas. Everyone is still busy with their last minute Christmas shopping hoping they won’t forget to give present to everyone in their lists. Gift-giving has always been part of the Christmas tradition all over the world.

As for me, I am not that busy with gifts, I don’t have much on my list and the budget is tight this year. What I am busy this season is the wedding of my sister on the 26th. Now that the most important things for the wedding have been set, we’ve been preparing food recipes for the suppliers and the relatives who will be at the preparation site. My mother has been busy with her sets of dinnerware and can’t decide on what to use. It’s so nice to have another wedding in the family after mine. We haven’t been this busy for some time and I guess it gets us to reunite even more.

I wonder what present should I give the couple? Will a nice set of dinner plates be good? I definitely think they’ll like it since no one has gotten this gift based on the registry so it’s really for me to give. Oh and I need to prepare a speech. I am her Matron of Honor after all.

A toast to my sister and our new brother-in-law!
