Tips on choosing a baby car seat

  • Sharebar

It goes without saying that our children’s safety is always the primary concern for any sane and loving parent. We would go out on a limb just to do everything in our power to secure our kids’ safety. Whether they’re at home, in school or traveling just a few blocks away from your apartment, you whisper a silent prayer to yourself, hoping that whatever they do, they’ll be spared from any form of danger.

More than a prayer, of course, we parents have to take some action when it comes to keeping our kids away from whatever kind of peril. When going on a trip on your car, be sure to put your precious baby in a car seat.

Pick the right car seat depending on your child’s age, weight and height. Rear-facing seats are for newborns and infants. More than a child’s age and weight, his height will be the indicator as to when he has outgrown the rear-facing seat. When his head is within 1 inch of the top of the seat, that’s the sign that he’s ready for a forward-facing seat. Booster seats are for kids who are over 40 pounds. When they reach the age of 8, they could just use the adult seatbelt at the backseat of the car, without the aid of a booster seat. Always make sure the seatbelts are well-fastened.

So the next time you go shopping at the mall, be sure to check out the various baby car seats for sale. It will prove to be a valuable investment, as you cannot put a price on your children’s safety.
