A Rainy Day With the Family

  • Sharebar

On a somewhat gloomy day such as this, a line from an old Carpenters song inevitably comes to mind: “…rainy days and Mondays always get me down..”

Don’t get me wrong, though. it does make me happy that my hubby is here to spend time with me and the kids, as today has been declared a special non-working holiday here in the Philippines. The kids are naturally deliriously happy that there’s no school today, and they can spend the whole day just doing whatever their heart desires. Well, right now, what they desire is catching a DVD flick. Afterwards, we’re going to share a sumptuous lunch prepared by yours truly. This is the type of family bonding I enjoy the most. It’s cheap and stomach-filling!

I guess it really just is the weather that’s putting a damper on my mood, plus the fact that I am feeling a bit sick today. Otherwise, I’m extremely happy that I have the people closest to my heart all under one wet roof.

I don’t usually like rainy days. I hate getting wet outside. But a rainy day inside the home with the whole family is definitely the best bonding experience.
