Baby Ethan Needs Our Help

Friends, I have given you a heads up on this post and as of this writing, Baby Ethan James Cunanan is still in the hospital for a series of operations.

The parents of the baby are knocking at your generous hearts for prayers and financial assistance. Their baby, Ethan James was born with multiple congenital defects (hydrocephalus, hydronephrosis, normohydramnios, congenital meningocoele with spina bifida and clubbed feet). He needs to undergo a series of operations that cost around Php50,000 – Php70,000 per operation excluding Doctor’s fee, laboratory procedures and medicines.

Baby EJ is currently admitted at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center – Room 4, with visiting hours daily from 4-9PM only. The hospital’s contact number is +63 2 9246601 with address at Quezon Ave. cor Agham Road Quezon City.

I spoke to his father, one of my colleagues, and he said that the first operation on his back went well. The doctors are already planning to perform the VP shunt for his head once baby EJ recovers from the first operation. Doctors are hoping that he’ll be ready for the next operation after 4-6 weeks.

To those who want to help and give their support and pledges, you may contact the couple directly:

Baby EJ’s battle has just started and I, being a blogger in the blogosphere, would like to take this opportunity to ask for your help in behalf of the family. This is very hard for them so if you do have something to spare to the baby, please do so.

Note: I will not accept pledges so kindly contact the couple directly. If you have concerns though that I can answer, I will do so.
