Baby Ethan Needs Our Help

Friends, I have given you a heads up on this post and as of this writing, Baby Ethan James Cunanan is still in the hospital for a series of operations.

The parents of the baby are knocking at your generous hearts for prayers and financial assistance. Their baby, Ethan James was born with multiple congenital defects (hydrocephalus, hydronephrosis, normohydramnios, congenital meningocoele with spina bifida and clubbed feet). He needs to undergo a series of operations that cost around Php50,000 – Php70,000 per operation excluding Doctor’s fee, laboratory procedures and medicines.

Baby EJ is currently admitted at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center – Room 4, with visiting hours daily from 4-9PM only. The hospital’s contact number is +63 2 9246601 with address at Quezon Ave. cor Agham Road Quezon City.

I spoke to his father, one of my colleagues, and he said that the first operation on his back went well. The doctors are already planning to perform the VP shunt for his head once baby EJ recovers from the first operation. Doctors are hoping that he’ll be ready for the next operation after 4-6 weeks.

To those who want to help and give their support and pledges, you may contact the couple directly:

Larry Cunanan – +63 920 9540190

Joy Cunanan – +63 919 4490543

Or deposit at their account with the following details:

Baby EJ’s battle has just started and I, being a blogger in the blogosphere, would like to take this opportunity to ask for your help in behalf of the family. This is very hard for them so if you do have something to spare to the baby, please do so.

Note: I will not accept pledges so kindly contact the couple directly. If you have concerns though that I can answer, I will do so.

Heads Up: Help Needed

Hi everyone!

I am trying to help a colleague. His son was born with multiple congenital defects and needs to undergo series of operations. Our team have been reaching out to everyone since February 2009 to help him on the operation expenses and the hospital bills.

As of now, I have gotten his approval to post about his concern on this blog. I am still waiting for some other details before I officially post about his baby.

If you would like to help, he will be more than happy. I will let you know soon where you can directly deposit your pledges.

Looking forward for your help everyone.

Hands-on Mom

Tomorrow, our Holy Week long vacation will be over and we will be going back to work. We never went to any beach nor to any summer spot to have a special vacation spree. The family just stayed home but I made sure it will be worthwhile.

While at home, I became a hands-on mom, for a change. When working, I seldom to the chores during weekends because I am already pretty tired of work. But this week, I made sure that I will do things first hand (except the laundry :) ). I go to market, cook the food, bathe with the kids, eat with them and all those mommy tasks that I do not regularly do. Yes, I had super quality time with the kids and I can see happiness on their faces. Being with them after work was not the same as being with them throughout the day and I am happy I was able to make up for the times I missed. At night, after they fall into sleep, I do some scraps and entered a few challenges. Lookie lookie. I can still have some time for my hobby eh :)

Top Dropper for March 2009

I was about to make this post yesterday as scheduled but my internet connection has intermittently gone crazy (yet, again!) Anyway, it is still like that until today but I thought I might as well try so here goes.

This is the first time for Home and Parenting to thank those who have regularly visited this site to drop ECs.Unfortunately, while writing this post, the Entrecard server is taking too long to respond. I was able to view the statistics last night and I only got to remember the number 1 dropper for last month. So for now, I will be posting her avatar on this post. As for the other 9 droppers, I promise to update this post once the site is OK.

So the top dropper for Home and Parenting is none other than…Bingke of I Love/Hate America. I haven’t checked Blog Appetite yet but she was also my top dropper for 3 consecutive months there…Thank you Bingkee!

For those who still doesn’t know, I Love/Hate America is Bingkee’s journal on the things she loves, likes, dislikes in America. She is a very good friend and an awesome writer whom I admire most. Visit her blog to find out :)
